A Heath woman has been sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of making sexual contact with a 13-year-old boy, who was a friend of her son.
Natalie Sorrells, 44, was found guilty on two counts of indecency with a child by contact. The charges stem from incidents that occurred between April 2023 and February 2024. She was sentenced to 30 months for each count, to run consecutively. She was also fined $10,000.
Sorrells was originally arrested in February 2024. She had been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child. The aggravated sexual assault charges were later dismissed, and she was convicted only on the indecency charges.
The investigation began when the victim’s mother found deleted text messages between Sorrells and the 13-year-old.
According to the arrest affidavit obtained by fox4, the messages included inappropriate language. The victim later told his mother that Sorrells had touched him inappropriately.

A forensic interview with the child was conducted at the Rockwall Children’s Advocacy Center. During the interview, he described multiple incidents involving physical contact.
One incident allegedly occurred in a car after a football game. Another incident was reported to have occurred during a party at Sorrells’ home.
The child also stated that Sorrells provided him and other minors with alcohol and tobacco. One of the incidents allegedly took place while Sorrells was on a phone call with her husband, according to the affidavit.
Sorrells posted bond shortly after her arrest. The case proceeded through the Rockwall County court system. Following a jury trial, she was acquitted of the two aggravated sexual assault charges but convicted of both indecency charges.
Under Texas law, indecency with a child by contact is a second-degree felony. The conviction requires registration as a sex offender and includes a prison sentence of up to 20 years per count.
The court imposed consecutive 30-month terms, totaling five years.
The case was adjudicated by Rockwall County Judge Brett Hall. The district attorney’s office did not file additional charges beyond the original four counts. No further suspects or victims have been identified.
Sorrells previously volunteered at Lakepointe Church in Rockwall. The church issued a statement confirming that the conduct did not occur on church property or during church events. The church was not involved in the investigation.
Sorrells is currently serving her sentence in a state correctional facility. The sentence includes mandatory sex offender registration and a $10,000 fine.
Her eligibility for parole will follow standard procedures set by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
